These grades are established purely on the straightness, slope, density, and strength of the wood grain. Surface toughness is another property that is considered but for numerous reasons really does not affect the potential-energy your bat possesses.
We offer the four main species of wood to choose from.

mechanical properties (strength) of the wood fiber (wood) used to make the bat.
